What it is

FS-Tools is Fire-Lite's PC programming software for the ES Series addressable fire alarm panels. It configures panel settings per customer, verifies the setup before download, downloads the configuration to the panel, uploads event logs, history and troubleshooting data, compares upload and download files, shows a graphical view of installed devices and simulates input-to-output correlation. How to install

  1. Download the FS-Tools 03.02.008 ZIP from the Fire-Lite software and firmware page and extract it. New releases after July 30, 2025 are posted on Honeywell's software downloads page.
  2. Run FS-Tools Setup.exe. The InstallShield Wizard opens.
  3. Keep the default folder C:\Program Files\Honeywell\FS-Tools or click Change, then click Next.
  4. If a database from an earlier FS-Tools install exists, click OK at the message showing its path.
  5. Create the download password (at least 6 characters) and confirm it.
  6. Choose Standalone to install the Client and Server on one PC, or Network to install only the Client and point it at the FS-Tools Server's IP address.
  7. Click Finish when the install completes.

How to connect to the panel

  1. Connect the PC to the panel over USB.
  2. In FS-Tools, select the customer, then click Upload/Download > Connection Settings.
  3. Set Communication Mode to USB and click Auto Detect. The attached USB device appears under USB Device Attached to System.
  4. Click Close, then use the Download Utility to send the configuration or the Upload Utility to pull logs and history.
  5. Without a live connection, use Upload/Download > Thumb Drive Upload/Download to move the configuration on a USB flash drive.

Common errors and fixes

Panel Connection Lost

Check the connection between the computer and the fire panel, then reconnect. Source

FS-Tools does not work after installing a newer version

Uninstalling FS-Tools leaves the database in place. Delete the old database folder from the install location before installing the later version. Source
